Moments: I don’t need a camera

The old adage that the best camera is the one you have with you has proved true time and time again for me.

Almost without exception, my favourite photos are the ones I have taken with my iPhone and I can only see that trend continuing. Above are just a few recent ones that were captured without thinking.

  1. Nice shots!

I think about how from mid-2001 to – I dunno, 2012 or so? I would always carry around a Canon PowerShot (I think that’s Digital Elph where you are?) I had a bit of a chip on my shoulder about the shots, because it was a pretty competent camera, and I thought the “camera you have with you” aspect won out over other gear, even if that stuff could do better depth of field trickery…

Now that everyone has a competent camera in their pocket, I feel less special 😀 I wonder if that’s why I went off to One Second Everyday, so I can feel special again.
